General Information
What is Good Counsel?
Good Counsel (GC) is a subscription box for men of stature, providing online styling for a truly personalized shopping experience. Simply fill out your Style Profile and a Personal Stylist will handpick pieces and mail them right to your door. Each delivery contains a curated selection of clothing and accessories for you to try on at home. Just keep the items you love and send back the rest. Shipping, exchanges and returns are always free.
How does it work?
1. Tell us about you
Take a brief style quiz to help us identify your look and likes. Using our 60 Points Of Fit approach, we’ll be able to find stylish outfits that feel good no matter your stature.
2. Sit back while we style
Your own expert stylist will curate a style box of 4-6 items handpicked to fit you and your personality. For styling, you’ll be charged a $30 fee that can be applied as credit to any items you decide to purchase.
3. Get the goods
Just schedule your delivery and we’ll ship your style box for free, straight to your door. When you sign up, you’ll receive a tracking number for your style box within 7 business days.
4. Try it before you buy it
This is the fun part. Try on everything in your style box within 4 business days. With free returns and exchanges, just keep what you love and send back what you don’t.
5. Share your feedback
We’re not good until you are. Tell us how your pieces fit or suggest additional styles you’d like to try. We want you to look good and feel good in everything we send.
How is Good Counsel different than shopping online, or in a store?
Good Counsel makes shopping effortless. Like other online retailers, Good Counsel saves you a trip to the store by shipping items directly to you. The big difference is our Personal Stylists, who save you the time and hassle of picking out clothing and accessories. Not to mention, automatically scheduled shipments make finding new clothes exciting and convenient.
Returns are just as easy. All you have to do is place the items you’re returning back in the box and use the prepaid return label. Shipping is always free!
How much does it cost?
For each style box you order, you’ll be charged a $30 styling fee. Your $30 can then be applied as a credit toward any items you decide to keep. Generally, our items range from $20-$150 each.
What types of items can I expect?
We offer a wide variety of pieces from shirts to accessories. Our tops range in size from Medium to 8XL, and our pants go up to a 72” waist.
Where do you ship?
We currently ship to all 50 U.S. states and all U.S. territories. We do not ship to Puerto Rico (yet) or to PO Boxes.
What comes in a Style Box?
Each Style Box includes 4-6 items. Everything is hand-picked just for you based on your style preferences.
A prepaid return label is included for free & easy returns.
What styles of clothing do you carry?
We offer an assortment of styles, trends and everyday pieces.
We carry pants, tops, sweaters, jackets, coats and hats for any season. Numerous colors, patterns or washes are available.

How does the styling fee work?
When your Personal Stylist selects your items, you’ll be charged a $30 styling fee. Unlike traditional stylists who charge hundreds per hour, our service is only $30 per delivery. You’ll get 4-6 items with every order. Your $30 fee can then be applied as a credit toward any items you decide to keep.
Is it a subscription?
It can be set up that way, but you’re never locked into a contract of any kind. You can schedule automatic deliveries to occur monthly or every 3 months. Otherwise, our On Demand option lets you schedule a delivery whenever you’d like. Simply email your stylist when you’re ready to receive a box. Likewise, you can cancel any automated deliveries by emailing your stylist as well.
Style Profile
How do I find my size?
Because we constantly validate sizing, we may choose to ship you a different size than what you indicated on your Style Quiz. Don’t worry about the size on the tag; we're just making sure we send items that will fit you best.
Can I request specific pieces?
Absolutely! You can contact your Personal Stylist by emailing membership@goodcounsel.com. We recommend giving your Personal Stylist an idea of what types of pieces you’re into so that they can choose new items you’ll love.
Billing
When will my credit card be charged?
For each scheduled delivery, a $30 styling fee will be charged before your Personal Stylist begins styling for you. Your $30 fee can be applied as a credit toward any items you decide to keep. You’ll see it displayed on your invoice as a subtracted amount. See Returns for more on the checkout period.
Does the style fee roll over if I decide not to keep anything?
No, your styling fee can only be applied to a purchase in your current delivery. However, if you do keep items from your delivery and the total cost of the items falls below $30, any remaining credit will be rolled over to the next box.
Which items require prepay or a signature upon delivery?
Sneakers
• If member requests, 1st and 2nd boxes need to be PREPAID
• For 3rd boxes and on, No PREPAID required
• No Signature required for any sneakers.
Leather Goods
• Always PREPAID.
• Always Signature Required.
Outerwear
• 1st and 2nd boxes need to be PREPAID.
• For 3rd boxes and on, NO PREPAID required.
• Always Signature Required.
Scheduling
How do automatic deliveries work?
Delivery options include: every month, every three months or On Demand. For information about how payment works for automatic deliveries, see our Billing FAQ.
Do I have to sign up for automatic deliveries?
No. Our On Demand option means you will not receive an automatic delivery. It lets you contact us every time you’re ready to receive your next delivery. We want you to choose the solution that works best with your schedule and lifestyle.
How do I change or cancel my automatic deliveries?
If you’d like to make any changes to the frequency of your shipments, please email your Personal Stylist at membership@goodcounsel.com.
Returns
How do returns work?
Need to return or exchange? No worries, it will help us make your next style box even better.
1. Sign to your Good Counsel account.
2. Go to the “Orders History” section of your online profile.
3. Click on “View or Manage” for the order you’re returning.
4. Select “Return or Exchange” on the item(s) to return and provide the return reason.
Please make sure any returned item is unworn and in saleable condition, with all original packaging and tags. This includes any branded packaging for socks. You are allowed to try items on before returning them (other than underwear and socks).
5. Use the label included with your delivery to return your items. If your item came with a packing slip please include this with your return. No return bag or label? Contact us for a prepaid, printable label.
6. Drop off your return at a FedEx service counter, free of charge.
Do you ship overseas?
Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout.
How long do I have to decide what I want to keep?
You'll have 4 business days after receiving your style box to try on items and decide what you’d like to keep. You will receive an email with instructions on how to check out and return any items you don’t wish to purchase. If you don't check out, we’ll assume you loved everything, and your saved payment method will be charged.
What if I need more time to decide?
If you’re unable to return your items within 4 business days, you can extend for a few more days by emailing your Personal Stylist at membership@goodcounsel.com and requesting an extension.
